The PTA provides dinner for the staff on the Thursday of parent teacher conferences which is twice a year. Check with the principal on the time that has been set for dinner. Be sure dinner is ready because they usually only have 1/2 hour.

Plan for about 50 people. Have plenty of food. 2006 we ran out of food, which wasn't very pleasant. Have people save their receipts and they will be reimbursed.

There are some vegetarians so offer something meatless.

The chair does not have to cook everything. Plan the menu, then call the volunteers on the list and see what they would like to cook. You dish up the teachers or just set it up to serve themselves. Plan on setting up a clean up committee.

Dinner is held in the teacher's lounge. Check the PTA closet for dishes, tableclothes, etc. There is also some chafing dishes.

Presentation is important. The teachers have taught all day and are tired. Make it look pretty.
