Contact:pta@aacademy.org Duties: Organize the holiday shop. This would include contacting the company and ordering the merchandise for it. Organize volunteers to work the holiday shop. Parents should be encouraged to leave their children at home while they are volunteering. Sending out announcements for the holiday shop. Remember all flyers that go home have to be approved by the principal. This will usually take a day. All flyers have to then be copied and put in the teachers mailbox by Friday at noon for the following Tuesday folder, so plan ahead. Put up posters around the school advertising the Holiday Shop. Timeline: One month before. Pull out chair's book and review. Inventory Holiday Shop supply/decoration box in PTA Closet. 3 weeks before-Make flyer to go home to students. Get principal's approval. Copy flyers. Send out email/flyer looking for volunteers. 2 weeks before-Put flyers in Tuesday folders. Items needed for Holiday Shop. Decorations. Check Holiday Shop box in PTA closet. Signs with prices on them. Tablecloths. Pencils. Markers. Tape. Provide cookies/water for afternoon shop for volunteers. Sat AM provide pastries and water for volunteers.
