· Book Fair. When volunteering at the school during the day, night or weekend, the school guidelines apply. No children. If you are volunteering until 4pm, try to make arrangements with another family to carpool that day.
Two book fairs are held. The first one is during Parent-Teacher Conferences. Sale starts on Wednesday and runs through Monday. Hours are Wednesday, Friday and Monday 8-4:30 and on Thursday 8-8.
Duties: Organizing the drop off of the books from Scholastic. Be sure to tell the librarian when books are to be delivered. Books are set up Tuesday evening. Chairperson will need to coordinate all volunteers. You need at least 2 to 3 volunteers during the day and 3 to 4 volunteers from 2-4 and Thursday evening.
Tear down is Monday evening. Set up and tear down requires 2 or more volunteers. The more the better.
In the spring, there is an ice cream social on Friday night to bring in more people. Friday is the late night instead of Thursday.
All proceeds go to the library.
Scholastic rep-
Need 8 cases, 5 elem, 2 middle school and 1 adult. Ask for racks for top of cases and the Clifford costume for advertisement.
Advertise this sale early. Put up all the posters. Remember anything for Tuesday folder requires office approval and must be in the teacher's mail by Friday of the week before.
