Yearbook is published by Van Gogh School Photography.
Timeline:
Start at the beginning of the year taking pictures. You need a lot of pictures for a yearbook. In September do a flyer to sell the yearbook. Form can go in the PTA folder if you make one that year.
October: Get list from office of people who can't be in publications. Most people don't realize that by signing the form they won't be in the yearbook. Call everyone on the list and ask if they want to be in the yearbook. Send out flyer asking for pictures. Take pictures of Fall celebratiion parties.
November: Have teachers proof class pages. At this time you should start working on pages of the yearbook. Deadline is in March. You won't be able to do all 44 pages in one week. Pace yourself.
December-Take picture of winter parties. Get club pictures.
In January, send out to the students confirmations of orders and order forms for the ones who didn't order. If you send out an order form to all students, many parents will pay twice. I've attached copies of all the forms, we used.
Feb & March- Take picture of Valentines day and dances. Deadline for entire yearbook is in March. Hopefully you have been pacing yourself and doing pages early. Some years we put the spring sports in the next years book. It depends on the deadline.
May-Books are delivered. Each staff member receives a free book. I send home a flyer announcing the delivery date. I do this close to the end of the day. I make labels with students name and put them inside the yearbook. This helps the book from being stolen, or misplaced. Do AM kindergarten in the morning. Do the rest of the classes in the afternoon. Start k and work up. Make all children put their yearbook in their backpack. Do middle school last. I discourage them getting autographs the first day. Let the parents decide if they want the yearbook written in.
